In December, Mr. Jack Tobias, Mrs. Danielle Heverly, Mrs. Melissa Butterworth, Mrs. Barb Young, and Mrs. Annette Threeton got to spread a little Christmas spirit when they took thirteen BEA Middle and Senior High students shopping to Kohl's in State College as part of the Jeans For Our Teens Program.

The program which started in 2014, helps students in the BEA Middle and High School purchase clothes for Christmas. The money for this program is graciously donated by teachers paying $5.00 to wear jeans every other Friday. From September to December 2015, caring and dedicated BEA staff raised an amazing $2,600!

Utilizing that money, students that were selected purchased sneakers, boots, sweatshirts, jeans, shirts, and various other clothing items. The total bill came to $4800, prior to the discounts and coupons. In addition, BEA received $440 in Kohl's Cash that was used to purchase additional shirts.

In all, the faculty and staff were able to provide over $5800 in clothing for BEA students. Because of their generosity, the entire Bald Eagle Area Middle and High School Family was selected as the December Teacher of the Month. A celebration was held at the January faculty meeting where they were awarded with the Teacher of the Month plaque, cookies, and a FREE Jeans Day on January 8th.
