Bald Eagle had all the offensive momentum in the first half – with Steve Wiser, Dick Lewis and the Shawley cousins, Steve and Greg, leading BEA to a 6-0 halftime lead.  With the help of 3000 Bellefonte fans incessantly chanting “go”, “go”, “go”, Bellefonte came storming back in the second half to take a 14-6 lead into the final quarter.

The Eagles mounted a final drive in the fourth quarter marching all the way from their 12-yard line to the Bellefonte 26 before a fumble recovered by Dave O’Shell ended the Eagles come from behind hopes.

Wow, wouldn’t it be great to be able to watch this classic high school football game today. After Eagle Ambassadors learned that Bill Luther Jr. possesses the only known film of the game, we contacted Bill who has agreed to join EA in a joint fundraiser to digitize it so that we can post it to the EA Youtube channel for public viewing.

However, we can only accomplish our goal to remaster the film if you make a tax-deductible donation to our GoFundMe Campaign to Restore the 69 Game Film – every donation helps!  Please donate now, we would like to have the film remastered in time for this years Spring Creek Rivalry football game between Bellefonte and Bald Eagle. Thank you for your donation!
