Entrepreneur Fair Gives Elementary Students a Taste for Business

The annual Entrepreneur Fair at Howard Elementary School was recently held again this year. The annual Entrepreneur Fair allows the fifth-grade students at Howard Elementary to act as young entrepreneurs, invent and create their own businesses and then sell the products they make

These business savvy 5th graders made and sold items ranging from headbands made out of old tee-shirts, to charm bracelets, and even food items like cupcakes and cookies. All the Proceeds from the event benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a great cause that the school supports every year.

Entrepreneurial events like this are great for several reasons. Not only do they give students the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship at a young age but they also give students the freedom to think creatively, set goals, and improve on their interpersonal and people skills by forcing them to interact and engage with the multitudes of different people that come up to their booths. In addition to learning about entrepreneurship, the Howard Elementary Entrepreneur Fair also allows its student to get involved with philanthropy at an early age by donating the proceeds from the event to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

The Entrepreneur Fair gives students at Howard Elementary a taste for running their own businesses as well as allowing them to experience the full process of creating a business. From the conception of the idea, to the creation of the product and to the sale of the items, these students do it all.

Great job Howard Elementary for providing students with this great fun and educational opportunity!
