EITC Program Spotlight: Botball Builds Math and Science Skills While Building Robots

The Botball Educational Robotics Program gives students skills, experience, and opportunities to succeed as they work in teams to design, build and program a pair of robots for regional and national competitions. The robots are autonomous – no remote control is used. Instead, students learn to program their robots in advance using C, C++, and Java.

By building, and programming robots, students use science, engineering, technology, math, and writing skills in a hands-on project that reinforces their learning.

Eagle Ambassadors is an approved Educational Improvement Organization that can take advantage of the Pennsylvania EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) program to fund many innovative educational programs in the Bald Eagle School District. The Botball Educational Robotics Program/Technical Team is one such program.

“Botball takes the promising math or science student and challenges them to become more,” says Becky Ann, a Botball Team Mentor, quoted on their website.

Botball is a standards-based robotics educational program designed for middle school and high school students. To learn more visit http://www.botball.org
